Excuses, excuses I tell myself

and of course they are

anything to stop me

putting the shopping away

It’s the same

every Saturday

I have it delivered, OK

but it sits there

on the kitchen unit

crying out

“put me away”

Truth is

I can’t be bothered

lethargy, boredom

who knows, who cares

I need some excitement

certainly not

shopping and packing away

not today

So how long will it sit there

my Son unpacked the bags

so neatly he laid them out

that drives me mad

I cannot stand all tidy

so I knock them all over the place

Let’s make a coffee

my sixth so far today

and think about

putting them away
