“A Treat”

Water softly going home

Leaving the sand all alone

Seagulls appear

One, two, three

Looking for whatever

Scraps appear

Lonely Beach

I stand and watch

The Sea disappear

Wet sand beneath my feet

Memories of young Boys laughter

And games that were played

Sausage rolls made that afternoon

Little cakes with sprinkly too

Fresh Orange juice and chocolate bars

Picnic on the Beach

How we laughed

Just some normal hours

At last away from

Nana and maiden Aunt

Father driven off somewhere

Just the Boys and me

Away from all the cares

Two young Boys having fun

Normal to others

But to us three

A treat
