“Asleep”

Your’e asleep

I lift the duvet off my body

I slip from the bed

Quickly slip on negligee

I step slowly across the floor

To open the French Doors

Let in the fresh cool air

Standing there

I turn to look at you

Sleeping on your side

Your still firm body

Tanned yet skin so soft

Your inner pain

Silent tonight

I look to the hills outside

The sounds of the creatures

Scuttling back and forth

Foraging for their food

You  slowly move the negligee back

Your warm hands slip around my waist

Your left hand holding my left breast

Your right hand between my thighs

I turn my face to you

We share gentle kisses on our lips

You whisper

“come back to bed”

I look in your eyes

They say so much

No sign of sleep now
