“Sweetest English Rose”

Are these the last

Of Summer’s Roses

English Rose

How I have loved you

From a Child so innocent

Visits to an Aunt

Who lived so near

To London Airport

As it was known

Summer in her Garden

Afternoon Tea served on a tray

English leaf tea poured  into china cups

Homemade cakes to delight

Nice memory

Trellis covered with this Rose

This English Rose so fair

Pinkish White

Sweetest smell

Oh how I remember you so

You felt like velvet

I loved your touch

But the sweet scent

I never forgot

Now I have them in my Garden

I look from Conservatory Windows

I see you standing proud

Heavy on your branches

Full heads

Pinkish White

The scent it is still

As I remember

Those days in a Summer Garden

Near London Airport

As it was known
