“Christmas Eve – Poetry Afternoon”

Rod McKuen, the forgotten Poet but still loved and admired by all his Fans.  Rod deserved so much better after he died, he had to tolerate abusive attacks on him when alive and they even continued on his Death.  His wish for his beloved “Barn” and Cottages so his World record Collection of LPs, his Books, his Art and all his other Collections  could be seen by those interested, he wanted people to stay paint, read, listen to music, write whatever they wanted, enjoy the scenery of his beloved Mountain  -Rod’s wish was not to be, his Collections were Sold, or  put in dumpsters.  Tragic, he deserved much more than that.  That is why I try to keep his Memory going and his work displayed here for people to appreciate what a very special person Rod McKuen was.

Rod McKuen

“I have fallen in love with the world.

And I am aware that I have chosen

the most dangerous lover of them all.”

“No map to help us find the tranquil flat lands, clearings calm, fields

without mean fences.  Rolling down the other side of life our compass is

the sureness of ourselves.  Time may make us rugged, ragged round the

edges, but know and understand that love is still the safest place to land.”
