TIME FOR POETRY AND MUSIC – TO WELCOME THE WEEKEND – CAUTION OFFENSIVE WORDS

DR. JOHN COOPER CLARKE  – Born January 25, 1949  –  Salford, Lancashire, England.

APART FROM THE REVOLUTION

Each drop of blood a rose shall be

all sorrow shall be dust

blown by breezes to the sea

whose fingers thrust

into the corners of restless night

where creatures of the deep

avoid the flashing harbour lights

in search of endless sleep

there were executions

somebody had to pay

apart from the revolution

it’s another working day

A million angels sing

peasants eating cake

wedding bells are ringing

the room begins to shake

the children free from measles all

have healthy teeth and gums

they live in the cathedrals

and worship in the slums

poverty and pollution

have all swept away

apart from the revolution

it’s another working day

SEARCH PARTY

There is no other

way to find ourselves

but in each others faces

WHO THINKS OF THE ANIMALS    –    BY  ANNA

Who thinks of the animals

as bombs rain down

and bodies fly

and blood flows in the gullies

but who thinks of the animals

those that wander streets

terrified of the noises

of bombs and guns

and people screaming

Those poor creatures

locked in cages left to die

in the Zoos where childrens laughter

could be heard on sunny days

who thinks of them

let alone gives them water

who thinks of them

those poor creatures

to be forgotten

As man starts War

and those that fight

those that run

those that die

limbless bodies

children left to die

babies abandoned

to the soldiers good or bad

oh God is it time for those

of us that believe

do we pray do we blame you God

do we think

do we care

Who thinks of the animals

who cares

Wars and Wars

and blood

and death

I ask and ask

who thinks of the Animals

be honest

do you really

Fucking Care?
